Healing Is Possible!

Recently I had the pleasure of interviewing Dr. Patricia Sherman regarding the issue of Vicarious Trauma and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) in emergency response volunteers on my Code Red! radio show heard on Federal News Radio, AM1050 in the nation's capitol of Washington, DC.

Dr. Sherman, Ph.D, LCSW is an Assistant Professor of Social Work and Director of the Bachelor of Social Work program at Kean University in Union, NJ. She received her Master's and Doctorate Degrees in Social Work from Rutgers University. For 20 years, in private practice, Dr. Sherman specialized in treating issues of sexual trauma, grief, chronic & terminal illness and adoption.

Dr. Sherman currently presents on topics ranging from bereavement to child sexual abuse, cultural proficiency and how to care for oneself while caring for others. She is also the author of the e-book, "From Tragedy to Triumph: How to Heal from Trauma and Starting living a Happy Life."

During my live interview with Dr. Sherman, she shared numerous insights and knowledge regarding helping people recover from tragic situations and she has an excellent website and a personal blog with numerous resources and links to help people deal with traumatic situations. For more details, please be sure to visit Dr. Sherman's website and share it with others as well. Dr. Sherman's website address is: http://www.healingispossible.com/.
